About

Worcester, Massachusetts gave hardcore punk a lot, and Bane are one of the scene's most enduring acts. Formed in 1995 around guitarist Aaron Dalbec of Converge and vocalist Aaron Bedard, the band built their reputation on relentless touring and a sound rooted in acts like Minor Threat, Youth of Today and the Cro Mags. Their albums on Equal Vision Records, from It All Comes Down to This through to Give Blood and The Note, cemented them as a hardcore institution. After releasing their final album Don't Wait Up in 2014, Bane played what seemed like a farewell show at the Worcester Palladium in 2016. But the story did not end there. They reunited in 2021 for a benefit show honouring bassist Brendan Maguire, who passed away from pancreatic cancer that year, and then in early 2023 announced a two night reunion at Roadrunner in Boston. Known throughout the scene for championing tolerance and unity, Bane have always meant more to their fans than just the records.
