About
Blind Channel call their sound 'violent pop', which about sums it up: the Oulu, Finland six piece mash nu metal aggression with hooks sharp enough to land them sixth place at Eurovision 2021. Their entry 'Dark Side' won the Finnish national selection with 54.3% of the vote, the highest in UMK history, and then racked up 301 points in Rotterdam, with a huge chunk of that coming from televoting fans rather than juries. In a neat bit of Eurovision lore, the band painted their middle fingers red after being told they couldn't actually flip off the audience on the family friendly broadcast. The day before their first Eurovision performance they signed to Century Media/Sony Music, which tells you the contest did exactly what it was supposed to do for them. After announcing an indefinite hiatus in late 2024 and vocalist Joel Hokka confirming his departure, the remaining members regrouped and announced a new album, Painstream, marking a fresh chapter for the band.
