Breakdown of Sanity (CH)

About

Breakdown of Sanity, the metalcore and deathcore outfit from Bern, Switzerland, have built their entire career on a DIY ethic that is genuinely rare in heavy music. Every album they have put out, from their 2009 debut The Last Sunset through to Mirrors, Perception, and 2016's Coexistence, was self produced by lead guitarist Oliver Stingel, with no label backing at any point. Coexistence even cracked the Swiss Hitparade, peaking at number 28. After a hiatus starting in 2017, the band came back swinging with new singles in 2020 and 2021, then kept the momentum going with Collapse in 2023 and a collaboration with Czech metalcore act Abbie Falls in 2024. The lineup has shifted along the way, with a new drummer and a newly announced vocalist, Kivi Brändle, coming aboard in 2025. A fifth album is on the horizon, nearly a decade after Coexistence.
