About
The Browning built their sound around a genuinely unusual idea: smashing deathcore and metalcore into hardstyle, trance, and dubstep, then locking it all together with double bass drumming, 808s, and heavily chugging guitars. Formed in Kansas City in 2005, the project started as a solo outlet for vocalist Jonny McBee before growing into a full band. Their debut album Burn This World came out on Earache Records in 2011, and they followed it up by hitting the road with Fear Factory, Shadows Fall, and Static X. Somehow, St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Shane Robinson even used their song "Ashamed" as his walk out track in 2012. Six studio albums in, McBee remains the only constant member, and the band keeps pushing their hybrid formula further. The fifth album End of Existence was recorded and performed entirely by McBee alone, while OMNI arrived in late 2024. Their lyrical world covers everything from sci fi aliens and zombies to Pokémon references, keeping things weird in the best way.
