Within Destruction from Jesenice, Slovenia have spent well over a decade shapeshifting through deathcore, death metal, metalcore, nu metal, and a heavy dose of anime aesthetics. What makes them genuinely interesting is how far they've pushed outside the genre's usual walls: their 2020 album Yōkai folded in hip hop, pop, and electronic textures alongside Japanese themes, and 2022's Lotus doubled down on that same restless blending. Then, almost as a reset, their 2023 EP Rebirth stripped everything back to raw deathcore, featuring guest vocals from David Simonich of Signs of the Swarm and Alan Grnja of Distant. Their sixth studio album Animetal, out in 2025 on Sumerian Records, sees them swing back toward the nu metalcore and electronic territory, with Japanese influences woven throughout. The current lineup of vocalist Rok Rupnik, guitarist and clean vocalist Howard Fang, and drummer Luka Vezzosi has been on the road extensively supporting the record across Europe, Australia, and Asia.
