About
Brothers Moving started as street musicians in New York City, and that scrappy busking energy never really left them. Formed in 2008 by three brothers and a bassist, the Danish quartet built a following the old fashioned way: playing corners, clubs, and parties around NYC before earning a coveted spot in the Music Under New York program in 2009. Their sound pulls from blues, funk, reggae, folk, and early rock and roll, and they sing in both English and Danish, which gives them a genuinely distinctive feel. A cellphone video of them covering Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher" at Union Square caught fire online and helped push their profile well beyond Denmark, where they were largely ignored early on. Their self titled debut came out in 2012, followed by the album Autonomy in 2018. They have kept putting out music since, with a string of self released singles and EPs including releases as recent as 2024.
