Atlanta rapper Che, born Chase Shaun Mitchell, built his buzz through viral TikTok traction in late 2021, starting with a remix of Yeat's 'Off Tha Lot' before his single 'Agenda' blew up across social platforms. Early on he ran in the plugg and rage rap circles, affiliated with the collective 4ersona alongside Skaiwater and Rich Amiri, and his sound has always leaned into dense, glitchy, hyper maximalist production over traditional lyricism. By 2023 he signed to 10K Projects and dropped his debut mixtape Closed Captions, then shifted gears with the EP Crueger, a drill flavored project built on orchestral textures, distorted bass, and frothy hi hats made in close collaboration with producer CXO. His debut album Sayso Says followed in 2024, drawing on acts like Crystal Castles and exploring the story of his alter ego Sayso. Singles 'Miley Cyrus' and 'Pizza Time' both caught positive attention from Pitchfork, cementing his reputation as one of the more ambitious young voices in experimental rap.
