Malaysian born, London based Chloe Qisha landed on the BBC Sound of 2026 shortlist, a pretty significant nod for an artist still building her catalogue. Her sound sits in what she calls "nostalgic alternative pop", and you can hear exactly why: disco grooves, a Katy Perry "Teenage Dream" era backbone, and a sharp pop sensibility that nods to everyone from ABBA and Talking Heads to Troye Sivan, who she considers a foundational influence on her songwriting. Recently she has been putting out a steady run of official videos, with tracks like "Sex, Drugs & Existential Dread", "21st Century Cool Girl" and "Modern Romance" arriving in quick succession through late 2024 and into 2025. The titles alone tell you something about her wit and range. She also cites Rosalía and Holly Humberstone as contemporary touchstones, so the palette is wider than pure nostalgia.
