About
Holly Humberstone built her reputation on music that feels bracingly personal, all atmospheric synth pop textures wrapped around lyrics she describes as 'quite self exposing'. The Grantham raised singer and songwriter first turned heads with her 2020 debut EP Falling Asleep at the Wheel, then signed to Polydor and Interscope before releasing The Walls Are Way Too Thin in late 2021, a project that landed her the Brit Award for Rising Star in 2022. Her sound draws comparisons to Lorde and Bon Iver, and she counts Phoebe Bridgers, Haim and Damien Rice among her main influences. Her debut album Paint My Bedroom Black arrived in October 2023, followed by the EP Work In Progress and an opener slot on Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in 2024. Her second album Cruel World came out in April 2026, and she followed it with It's a Real Cruel World, an EP of reimagined album tracks. She also contributed the original song Embers in the Sky to the 2026 video game Life Is Strange: Reunion, showing she is happy to move between formats whenever the work calls for it.
