Lizzy McAlpine has a way of making quiet songs hit hard. The Philadelphia singer songwriter blends folk pop, indie folk, and traces of jazz and R&B into music that feels both intimate and precise, and her second album Five Seconds Flat (2022) proved she could do it at scale. The song "Ceilings" went viral on TikTok and peaked at number 54 on the Billboard Hot 100, racking up over 230 million streams and landing McAlpine her first appearance on that chart. Her NPR Tiny Desk Concert that same year ranked in listeners' top ten of 2022. Her third album, Older (2024), continued that momentum, with a deluxe edition called Older (and Wiser) following later in the year with five unreleased tracks. She has also collaborated with Noah Kahan on "Call Your Mom" and Niall Horan on "You Could Start a Cult", and her work with Jacob Collier on "Erase Me" showed her range early on. In 2025, she stepped into theatre, playing Nellie Collins in the Broadway premiere of Floyd Collins opposite Jeremy Jordan.
