The first woman signed to The Weeknd's XO label, Chxrry (also known as Chxrry22, real name Lydia Habtemariam) built her profile from a viral Instagram cover of Rihanna's "Work" back in 2018 to releasing her debut album, U, Me & My Ego, in May 2026. The Toronto artist works in an alternative R&B space with pop influences, and she cites Amerie, Rihanna, and Beyoncé as the voices that shaped her sound. Before the album she put in serious road work, supporting The Weeknd on the Oceania leg of his After Hours til Dawn Tour and joining Mariah the Scientist's To Be Eaten Alive Tour. She also appeared on The Weeknd's track "Reflections Laughing" and turned up in the video for "Cry for Me" from his 2025 album Hurry Up Tomorrow. U, Me & My Ego features Mariah the Scientist and Cash Cobain, and recent uploads suggest the collaboration with Mariah goes even further.
