About
Joyce Wrice brings a warmth to R&B that feels genuinely rooted in the 90s without being a nostalgia act. Her debut album Overgrown, released in 2021, is the record that put her on the map, drawing praise for its cohesive soulful production and her rich, emotive vocals. It features collaborations with Masego, Lucky Daye, and Freddie Gibbs, whose appearance on the standout track "On One" earned serious streaming numbers and radio play. Beyond the album, she performed the theme song for the Disney+ series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder in 2022, showing her range extends well past the indie R&B world she came up in. Her sound pulls from Aaliyah, Brandy, and Usher but lands somewhere very much her own, blending smooth delivery with lyrics that are personal and emotionally direct.
