About
From County Cork in Ireland, Darren Kiely built his sound around a lifelong connection to traditional Irish music, filtered through the kind of modern folk influences you'd hear in The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons, and Noah Kahan. He picked up the tin whistle first, then the violin, and eventually taught himself guitar. His singing started in 2019, and his raw, emotionally charged voice quickly set him apart. His debut EP 'Lost' is a seven track project wrestling with self doubt, identity and the search for answers. It includes 'Mom and Dad', which charted in the Irish Singles Top 40 and reached the Top 5 of the Irish Homegrown Chart, alongside fan favourite 'Sunrise', which went all the way to number one. His follow up EP 'From The Dark' pushes his songwriting further, taking on the harder edges of growing up and moving on.
