About
Dayseeker built their reputation on a post hardcore and metalcore sound that keeps pulling in listeners from adjacent scenes like emo, electronic rock, and even synthwave. The Anaheim band, led by vocalist Rory Rodriguez, signed to Spinefarm Records in late 2016 and has been on an upward trajectory ever since. Their fifth album, Dark Sun, came out of a deeply personal place: Rodriguez had originally planned to write just one song about losing his father around the time his daughter was born unexpectedly, but the grief took over the whole record. The acoustic companion album Replica followed in 2024, featuring a collab with Beartooth's Caleb Shomo on "Burial Plot" and a cover of Evanescence's "My Immortal". Their sixth studio album, Creature in the Black Night, landed in October 2025, continuing their run as one of the more consistently evolving bands in the metalcore space.
