About
Few Belgian bands have left a mark quite like dEUS. Since their international breakthrough in 1994, the Antwerp group led by singer and guitarist Tom Barman has spent more than three decades pulling at genre boundaries, building a reputation on unconventional song structures and a restless willingness to jump between styles. Their debut album Worst Case Scenario and its follow up In A Bar, Under The Sea, released in 1996, are the records that cemented their standing and changed the course of indie and art rock in Belgium and well beyond. The band operates somewhere in the territory where indie rock, alternative rock and art rock overlap, but those labels only get you so far. What sets dEUS apart is the sheer unpredictability of their approach. After more than thirty years they still manage to catch long time fans off guard, which is a rare thing.
