About
Belgian singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist Daan Stuyven built his reputation through a series of records that kept pushing his sound in unexpected directions. His second album Bridge Burner turned him into a genuine club presence, with "Swedish Designer Drugs" becoming a dancefloor staple, but it was Victory in 2004 that really put him on the map: gold status, a ZAMU Award for best album, and a slot on the main stage at Rock Werchter. He has never been content to stay in one lane, moving from electronically flavoured dance music to guitar and piano driven songwriting on Manhay, and even bridging dance and German schlager on the single "Promis Q". At the 2009 MIAs he swept four prizes, including best male solo artist, a title he also took home the following year. His live shows, backed by a tight band of seasoned musicians, have always been a central part of what makes Daan worth watching.
