About
Digitalism record their music in a World War II bunker in Hamburg, which tells you something about the sonic world they inhabit. Jens Moelle and İsmail Tüfekçi have been building their brand of hard hitting electronic music since 2004, signed to the taste making French label Kitsuné as well as Astralwerks and Virgin Records. Their debut album Idealism landed in 2007 and became a touchstone for the electro house and new rave scenes, with tracks like Zdarlight and Pogo showing up in FIFA and Need for Speed soundtracks. They cite Daft Punk, The Strokes and even Ennio Morricone as influences, which goes some way to explaining why their music has more texture than your average dancefloor fare. Live, they've shared stages with Queens of the Stone Age, Justice and DJ Shadow, and played Coachella, Lollapalooza and Ultra Music Festival. Their 2016 album Mirage marked a return after five years, and they have kept releasing new material since.
