About
Leipzig's Disillusion have spent three decades quietly doing things their own way in progressive and death metal, and the results speak for themselves. Their 2004 debut Back to Times of Splendor landed on Metal Blade Records and had Rock Hard magazine calling it a serious contender for debut of the year. Rather than follow it up with more of the same, the band deliberately steered into new territory with Gloria in 2006, leaning into electronic textures and distorted vocals in a move that divided fans but showed where their ambitions really lay. After a hiatus and a celebrated full album comeback show in Leipzig in 2015, they returned with The Liberation in 2019, which cracked the German Top 100 album charts at number 45. They kept the momentum going with AYAM in 2022, their fourth record, previewed by the single Am Abgrund.
