Dizzy Man's Band built a serious reputation as a live act during the 1970s and 80s in the Netherlands, with a set that mixed strong original material and well chosen covers. Their own songs included "Matter of Facts", "The Show", "The Opera" and "Tickatoo", which reached number one in the Dutch Top 40. They also took on hits associated with Blood, Sweat and Tears, Chicago, Joe Cocker and Alice Cooper. After lead singer Jacques Kloes passed away the band went quiet for some time. In 2019 the group was revived at the initiative of the widow of guitarist Dirk van der Horst, under the name Dizzy Man's Band The Legacy. The new lineup is an expanded one, featuring four brass players alongside a roster of experienced professional musicians. The band gained a fresh wave of attention when they appeared on the SBS television programme The Tribute, Battle of the Bands, which drew around six million viewers in the Netherlands.
