About
Eisbrecher came together in 2003 when Alexander Wesselsky and Noel Pix left Megaherz over creative differences, and they immediately carved out their own corner of the neue deutsche härte scene. Their sound mixes heavy guitars with electronic programming and punchy synths, and they describe it as "modern, electronic trip rock". The maritime theme runs through everything: lyrics loaded with sailing terms like "Ahoi" and "Es wird kalt", and Wesselsky taking the stage in naval or military gear. Their fourth album Eiszeit hit No. 5 on the German charts in 2010, and Die Hölle muss warten followed in early 2012, debuting at No. 3 in Germany. Along the way they have shared stages with Alice Cooper, Scorpions, and Linkin Park, and released music across North America through Metropolis Records.
