About
Eisenfunk are a German EBM act whose hard, industrial flavored electronics carved out a solid niche in the cybergoth scene. Founded by Michael Mayer in 2006, they hit their stride across a run of albums that leaned into glitchy, video game influenced sounds, most notably on 8 Bit and the track Pong, which became a cult favorite. After a busy stretch of festival appearances, including the Amphi Festival in Cologne, the band called it quits in May 2014 with a final show in Ingolstadt. Their music kept circulating online and pulled in a whole new wave of fans long after they stepped away. Then in 2024, after more than a decade of silence, they announced a comeback and followed through with a new album, Superhelden, proving the project still had plenty of life left in it.
