Over 80 million records sold across a 40 year career says a lot about Eros Ramazzotti's staying power. The Roman singer writes and produces his own material, releasing everything in both Italian and Spanish to stay close to his massive fanbase across Europe and Latin America. He broke through at the 1984 Sanremo Festival with "Terra promessa", then came back the following year with "Una storia importante", which sold a million copies in France alone. By 1986, he had won Sanremo outright with "Adesso tu". His music sits somewhere between pop, rock and lush ballads, and he has a knack for landing heavyweight collaborators. Tina Turner, Cher, Carlos Santana, Joe Cocker, Luciano Pavarotti and Alicia Keys are just a handful of the names he has shared a microphone with. "Cose della vita" with Tina Turner and "Più che puoi" with Cher are among the duets that brought him to audiences far beyond his Italian core. Thirteen studio albums deep and still going, Ramazzotti remains one of the most internationally successful Italian artists of his generation.
