About
Faradays is a Dutch pop artist whose music sits at the crossroads of electronic dreampop and traditional Javanese sound. For her album GAMELAN, she dug through old cassette tapes her mother had recorded, finding the gamelan music that once filled her family's living room. From that material she built something genuinely her own: percussive beats and Javanese scales woven into brooding synths and close, intimate vocals. The project grew out of a real emotional question too, not just an aesthetic one. What is it about this particular music that still gets to her? What does it mean for her family, and why does it carry that specific tension? Those are the threads running through her work.
