About
Fritz Kalkbrenner is a Berlin born DJ and producer whose sound sits at the intersection of techno and deep tech, and whose catalog spans more than a decade of steady output on the Suol label. His biggest moment in the wider public consciousness came with "Sky and Sand", the track he made with his brother Paul Kalkbrenner for the 2008 film Berlin Calling. That song stuck around in the German charts for 127 weeks and cracked the top ten in the Netherlands and Vlaanderen, which is a remarkable run for anything rooted in electronic club music. On his own, Fritz has built a solid solo discography across albums like Ways Over Water, Grand Départ, and Drown, with his most recent release being Third Place on Virgin Records in 2024. He keeps his sound grounded and melodic without losing the dancefloor edge.
