Fort Worth death metal crew Frozen Soul have been making a serious case for the frozen tundra as a state of mind since forming in 2018. Their debut EP Encased in Ice landed in 2019, followed by the full length Crypt of Ice in 2021, a record that set the tone for their punishing, glacier weight sound. Their second album, Glacial Domination, arrived in 2023 and got people talking for the way it weaves classic death metal with hardcore muscle. The fact that it was produced by Trivium's Matt Heafy only added to the intrigue. The band's lineup has settled around vocalist Chad Green, guitarists Michael Munday and Chris Bonner, bassist Samantha Mobley, and drummer Matt Dennard. Five people, one mission: make death metal that feels like being buried under a frozen lake. Recent uploads like "Invisible Tormentor", "Arsenal of War", and "Best Served Cold" suggest they are keeping the cold front moving.
