Winning BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix of the Year in 2018 put HAAi firmly on the map, but the Australian producer and DJ had already been quietly building something special through a two year residency at London's Phonox. Born Teneil Laetitia Throssell, she grew up in Karratha, Western Australia, and actually came to DJing through rock music, including a stint in psychedelic rock duo Dark Bells, only picking up the decks after the band called it quits. Her debut EP Systems Up, Windows Down arrived in 2019, followed by her full length debut Baby, We're Ascending in May 2022, a collaboration with Jon Hopkins that showed off the more immersive, atmospheric side of her sound. She has also worked with Fred Again, and her second album Humanise came out in 2025.
