About
Hannah Mae started out as a country and folk artist before carving out her own place in contemporary Dutch language pop. Her breakthrough came with Wat Wil Je Van Mij, a collaboration with Flemish singer Metejoor, which she quickly followed up with two more hits: Waterdicht and Ik Wil Dat Je Liegt, the latter made with MAKSIM. What sets her apart is a clear, bright voice, a strong melodic instinct and lyrics that feel genuinely personal rather than polished for radio. Her debut album Rode Draad caught the attention of Ilse DeLange, who signed Hannah Mae to her own label to release it. That kind of co sign says a lot about the impression she has made on the Dutch music scene in a short stretch of time.
