Hot Since 82, the alias of South Yorkshire's Daley Padley, has one of the better origin stories in house music. At an afterparty in Holmfirth around 2010, the music cut out and he plugged his iPhone into the speakers. One of his unfinished tracks played by accident, the room loved it, and he ended up sending it to Danish producer Noir. That track became "Let It Ride", which hit number three on Beatport's deep house chart in 2011 and launched the Hot Since 82 name. Since then Padley has built a serious catalogue across deep house, tech house and techno, dropping his debut album Little Black Book in 2013, which featured collaborations with Joe T Vannelli and Thomas Gandey. That same year his Green Velvet remix reached number one on Beatport. He founded his own label Knee Deep in Sound in 2014, using it as a platform for underground talent as well as his own releases, including the albums 8 track and Recovery. He has also appeared twice on Pete Tong's Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1.
