Isaiah Rashad put himself on the map through raw talent and an unconventional route into the industry, releasing free tracks on SoundCloud over MF Doom and Flying Lotus beats before catching the attention of Top Dawg Entertainment, the label home to Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q. His 2014 debut EP Cilvia Demo landed to universal acclaim, debuted at number 40 on the Billboard 200, and earned him a spot in XXL Magazine's prestigious Freshman Class that year. His follow up, The Sun's Tirade, peaked at number 17 on the same chart in 2016. Rashad signed with Warner Bros. Records for his second album, The House Is Burning, which finally arrived in 2021 after a lengthy wait. He then followed it up with his third studio album, It's Been Awful, released in 2026 to critical acclaim. A founding member of the Chattanooga hip hop collective TheHouse, he has always kept that Tennessee identity close while building one of the more critically respected catalogs in contemporary rap.
