Jan Willem Rozenboom is a Dutch pianist, composer and music producer best known for his long creative partnership with Guus Meeuwis. He was a founding member of Meeuwis's original backing band Vagant in the 1990s, and when the group split at the end of 2001 he stayed on as Meeuwis's permanent pianist. That collaboration has produced some of the biggest Dutch pop hits of recent decades, including Brabant, Toen ik je zag and Tranen gelachen. Outside the pop world, Rozenboom is a serious classical pianist who graduated cum laude from the Brabants Conservatorium in 2000, studying under Alexander Hrisanide and later Rian de Waal. In 2015 he released a recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations, followed in 2019 by a Schubert album, each accompanied by a theatre tour. He has also toured with his own Bach transcriptions, keeping one foot firmly in the concert hall while the other stays in the band.
