Jhariah operates under the motto 'no genre, all drama', and it suits him perfectly. A few seconds of his music makes one thing clear: traditional genre boundaries mean nothing to him. Dance punk, emo, prog rock, hardcore, pop, hip hop and Latin dance rhythms all collide in a single kaleidoscopic sound that somehow holds together. It is the kind of music that could only come from someone who grew up online, absorbing everything at once. Based in Brooklyn and working as an independent artist out of his home studio, Jhariah built a devoted fanbase on the internet before taking his music to live stages. Originally from the South Bronx, he has developed a signature style that feels genuinely unclassifiable, all drama and colour, with nothing filed neatly away.
