Jonah Kagen

About

Also known as: Jonah Chase Kagen

Jonah Kagen's "God Needs the Devil" climbed all the way to number one on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart in May 2025, which is a pretty big moment for a singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist who started out putting out a steady stream of singles from 2021 onward. He's based in Savannah, Georgia, and his catalogue has grown quickly, with the debut album Georgia Got Colder in 2022 followed by a run of EPs: Made Up My Mind, The Roads and Black Dress. His second album, Sunflowers and Leather, arrived later in 2025 and has a good backstory: he wrote it while travelling around the United States with an Airstream trailer. Singles like Matches, The Reaper and Burn Me sit alongside it, and a third album, Eternity of Anything, is listed for 2026, along with newer tracks such as Mississippi River Bluebird and Talkin' About Jesus.
