Jordy van Loon (NL)

About

Jordy van Loon is a singer songwriter from Voorburg with a deep affection for classic Dutch repertoire. He scored a number one hit with 'Verliefdheid' and has since grown into a versatile performer, taking on roles in productions such as 'Haal het doek maar Op' and 'Titanic'. His work sits comfortably in the Hollands singer songwriter tradition, but he moves easily between pop and theatrical performance. That theatrical side comes into focus in his tribute to Louis Davids, the early twentieth century variety star whose songs helped shape the sound of Dutch popular music. Van Loon takes audiences through the story of who Davids was and what he contributed to the Dutch song tradition, bringing evergreens like 'Dat is die kleine Man' and 'Als je voor een dubbeltje geboren bent' back to life with evident care for the originals.
