About
Wolter Kroes is a Dutch nederpop singer from Wormerveer whose biggest moment came in 2008 when Viva Hollandia hit number one in the Dutch Top 40, riding the wave of national excitement around UEFA Euro 2008. The song proved so popular he brought it back for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. His catalog stretches back to the mid 1990s, with highlights like Niet normaal peaking at number four and albums like Laat me zweven and Langzaam cracking the top ten of the Dutch Albums Chart. Over more than two decades he has built a loyal following in the Dutch live circuit, documented on releases like Live in Ahoy and a concert DVD recorded at the Heineken Music Hall. His sound sits firmly in the hollands and nederpop tradition, upbeat and crowd friendly, the kind of music that fills a festival tent on a warm summer evening.
