About
Also known as: Joost Theo Sylvio Yussef Abdelgalil Dowib
Josylvio, born Joost Theo Sylvio Yussef Abdelgalil Dowib in Naarden, is one of the most consistent chart performers in Dutch rap. Three of his albums in a row, Hella Cash, Gimma, and Abu Omar, all landed at number one on the Dutch Albums Charts, a run that few of his peers can match. He got his start in 2015 under the name Jaybay, and the single Le7nesh with Sevn Alias was what opened the door, leading to his debut album Ma3seb with producer Esko. His sixth album, Vallen & Opstaan, came out in 2022, keeping up a release pace he has held since his debut. Along the way he has collaborated with Ali B, Hef, Jairzinho, and others, and took part in the 2017 collective project All Eyez on Us, a tribute to Tupac Shakur alongside Latifah, Kempi, Sevn Alias, Vic9, and Rocks. He has picked up Edison, XITE, and FunX Music Awards over the course of his career.
