Joy Anonymous is a London DJ duo made up of Henry Counsell and Louis Curran, who found their footing during the pandemic in a wonderfully scrappy way. Stuck at home with nothing to do, they hauled their gear down to the South Bank and started playing music outdoors, sometimes running pop up sessions five days in a row and pulling passersby up to the mic. Those informal gatherings gradually grew into proper block parties, and a loyal following came with them. From those street level beginnings they moved on to bigger stages, collaborated with The Blessed Madonna, and played a B2B set with Fred Again… at Alexandra Palace. Their second album, Cult Classics, captures the euphoria that runs through their live shows, music that leans fully into the full emotional sweep of being alive.
