Fred again.. has built one of the more fascinating careers in recent electronic music, moving from behind the scenes hitmaker to genuinely beloved live act in the space of a few years. Born Frederick John Philip Gibson, he spent the mid to late 2010s quietly shaping the UK charts, co writing George Ezra's "Shotgun", producing twelve of fifteen tracks on Ed Sheeran's No.6 Collaborations Project, and holding credits on roughly 30% of all UK number ones in 2019 alone. That run earned him Brit Awards Producer of the Year, making him the youngest ever to take the title. His Actual Life album series is where things get genuinely interesting: he builds tracks around voice memos, social media clips and sampled fragments, treating the whole thing as a kind of sonic diary. The third instalment, Actual Life 3, won him the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album, and his collaboration "Rumble" with Skrillex and Flowdan took Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the same ceremony. His Boiler Room set in London became one of the platform's most watched ever, and his collab with Swedish House Mafia, "Turn On The Lights again..", became a defining club moment. He also collaborated with Baby Keem on "leavemealone" in early 2024.
