About
Born in Boston and based in Los Angeles, Khamari is a singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist whose sound sits at a compelling crossroads of r&b, old soul and alternative rock. He picked up the violin at four as a classically trained musician, then taught himself everything else, and that combination of discipline and self direction shapes how he writes and produces. His debut EP 'Eldorado' arrived in 2020 to strong reception, and his full length debut 'A Brief Nirvana' followed in 2023, racking up close to 50 million Spotify streams on the back of tracks like 'Doctor, My Eyes' and 'These Four Walls'. The introspective single 'Head in a Jar' points to where his artistry is heading: cinematic, emotionally raw storytelling that draws on touchstones ranging from D'Angelo and Stevie Wonder to Jeff Buckley and Mazzy Star, with even filmmaker Christopher Nolan cited as an influence. There is a vulnerability to his music that feels deliberate rather than performed, which is probably why it connects the way it does.
