About
Toronto indie rock outfit Kiwi Jr. built their reputation on a knack for wry, wordy songwriting and a sound that sits comfortably in the lineage of jangly North American guitar pop. The four piece, featuring Jeremy Gaudet on vocals alongside Mike Walker, Brohan Moore, and Brian Murphy, debuted with Football Money on Canadian label Mint Records before catching the attention of Seattle institution Sub Pop, who signed them from 2021 onward. Since then they have kept a steady pace, putting out Cooler Returns, Chopper, and their fourth record Blowin' Up. Signing to Sub Pop gave their records wider reach without seeming to soften their edges, which is a neat trick for any band to pull off.
