LA based dubstep producer Kompany, aka Kyle Hagberg, has carved out a solid reputation in the bass music world largely through his work with Never Say Die Records. His EPs on that label, including New Reign and Metropolis, showcase a sound that critics have described as shredding heavy dubstep norms and pushing into new territory. The New Reign EP in particular drew attention for tracks like "Rapture" and "Stomp", the latter of which circulated as a fan favourite mystery ID in his live sets long before getting an official release. Beyond his solo work, Kompany has built a strong track record of collaborations. His remix of Illenium's "Free Fall" was praised for dismantling the original and rebuilding it as a full on dubstep riot, while his team ups with producers like Wooli and YOOKiE have consistently landed on respected labels and blogs. He also spent time as a sound designer at Cymatics.fm, which probably explains why sound design tends to be the thing reviewers single out most when writing about his tracks.
