Kublai Khan TX play a bruising blend of metalcore, beatdown hardcore, and groove metal rooted firmly in the early 1990s metallic hardcore tradition, drawing comparisons to Integrity, Earth Crisis, and Hatebreed. Out of Sherman, Texas, they built their sound around heavy, slow breakdowns, heavily downtuned guitars sometimes pushed all the way to drop G# on seven string instruments, and raw, raspy vocals that hit like they mean it. Their lyrics dig into real, uncomfortable subjects including racism, police brutality, organized religion, depression, and violence against women, giving their music a socially conscious edge that goes beyond standard metalcore fare. Over five studio albums and two EPs, the band steadily leveled up from a self released debut to signing with Rise Records for 2017's Nomad. Their fifth album Exhibition of Prowess landed in September 2024, and they also appeared as a featured act on a Lamb of God track that same year, sharing billing with Malevolence on Another Nail for Your Coffin.
