About
La Sécurité came together in 2020 as a lockdown side project, when the five Montreal musicians found themselves unable to play with their main bands. What started as a pandemic experiment turned into something much more serious. The group, fronted by vocalist Éliane Viens Synnott and rounded out by two guitarists, a bassist, and another string player, deal in a wiry mix of art punk, new wave, and egg punk that owes as much to the dancier end of post punk as it does to the anything goes spirit of rock québécois. Their 2023 debut album Stay Safe! landed them a Polaris Music Prize longlisting and a US tour supporting the Go! Team. Recent videos suggest they are keeping busy, with new material surfacing into 2026.
