About
From Caldicot in South Wales, The Bug Club started out playing blues before finding their footing in a warm, shaggy kind of indie rock that's earned them a cult following well beyond their hometown. Core members Sam Willmett, Tilly Harris and Dan Matthew built the sound slowly through the Cardiff college circuit before releasing their debut single in 2021 on Sheffield's Bingo Records. Their debut album Green Dream In F# followed in 2022, with singles racking up hundreds of thousands of streams and regular radio play. They've moved fast since then. Rare Birds: Hour Of Song, released in 2023, pushed into more experimental territory with spoken word interludes and new instrumentation, clocking in at just over an hour. Signing to Sub Pop brought their third album On The Intricate Inner Workings Of The System to a wider audience, and the single Have You Ever Been To Wales arrived in early 2025 ahead of their fourth album Very Human Features.
