About
Rotterdam's Leonie Meijer first caught wider attention through The Voice of Holland, where she was coached by Jeroen van der Boom and finished fourth. Her cover of Maria Mena's Just Hold Me charted in the Single Top 100, and her own single Lost in Yesterday broke into the Top 40. From there she built a solid Dutch language catalogue, scoring a Top 40 duet with Van der Boom called Los van de grond and releasing her debut album Los in 2011. Over the following years Meijer shifted between Dutch and English, collaborating with producers The Prophet and Noisecontrollers on Make Me Stay and teaming up with rapper Brainpower for Won't Come Back. Her third album, The Naked Sessions, stripped things back to more acoustic arrangements to capture the feel of her live shows. She then released NJ 123 in 2017, showing she has never been in a hurry to stand still.
