Lewis Taylor

Lewis Taylor has one upcoming show in the Netherlands: on November 14, 2026 at Complex Maastricht, Maastricht.

About

Lewis Taylor made one of those records that critics adored and almost nobody bought. His 1996 self titled debut on Island Records swapped his earlier psychedelic leanings for neo soul, spawning singles like "Bittersweet" and "Lucky", and it became an album everybody talked about but few picked up. He's a proper multi instrumentalist, and his path before that included a stint as guitarist with the Edgar Broughton Band and two psychedelia albums released as Sheriff Jack. The label years got messy. His follow up, heavy on Brian Wilson style arrangements, was rejected, so he scrapped it (it finally surfaced in 2004 as The Lost Album) and recorded the more commercial Lewis II instead. It still didn't land, and he was dropped. He went independent with his own Slow Reality label for the Stoned albums, and Robbie Williams covered "Lovelight" on Rudebox. After a break from music, he came back with Numb in 2022, his first new studio album in 17 years.
