About
Lex Uiting is a Dutch journalist and singer from Venlo who managed to land his song Nao 't Zuuje in the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 every year since 2018. That track, written after he was appointed as carnival prince of Venlo, shot straight to number one on the iTunes chart and became the most played carnival song in Venlo that year. His music is sung entirely in the Limburgish dialect, giving it a deeply regional character that somehow resonates well beyond the province. Before Nao 't Zuuje he spent years fronting the Venlo dialect band (zoemaar), winning the Priés Veur 't Limburgs Leed award for their debut record. He went solo with the wedding song Vanaaf vandaag in 2014, which also hit number one on iTunes after being picked up by major Dutch radio stations. His debut album LEX, released in 2023, collects 14 songs in Limburgish dialect and includes a duet with Chantal Janzen called Letste Leedje. Alongside all of this, he works as a reporter and co presenter for RTL Boulevard.
