About
Long Distance Calling built their reputation on sprawling, largely wordless compositions that pull from post rock and progressive rock in equal measure. The Münster four piece formed in 2006 and have stacked up an impressive run of full length records, from their 2007 debut Satellite Bay through to Eraser in 2022, each one threading together heavy atmosphere and melodic instrumental passages. When they do bring in vocals, they go straight to the top shelf: guest spots have come from Peter Dolving of The Haunted, John Bush of Armored Saint, Vincent Cavanagh of Anathema, and Jonas Renkse of Katatonia. Live, they have made their presence felt across some serious stages, including Rock am Ring, Roadburn, and Wacken Open Air. They have shared bills with Katatonia on a European tour and supported Protest the Hero across Europe in 2012. Their most recent album Eraser arrived in 2022, featuring the track Giants Leaving which got a full official video release.
