About
Lost Society came out swinging with fast, aggressive thrash metal on their 2013 debut Fast Loud Death, but the Jyväskylä four piece has never stood still. Each record has pushed them further from their boozy, high speed origins: by the time No Absolution landed in 2020, they had folded in groove metal, nu metal and metalcore, with lyrics taking aim at religion and its grip on society. Their fifth album, If the Sky Came Down (2022), kept that heavier, more modern direction going, leaning into themes of existential dread. Along the way they have shared stages with Slayer, Anthrax and Children of Bodom, toured Europe with Exodus and Blind Channel, and landed multiple albums in the Finnish top five. Their sixth album, Hell Is a State of Mind, arrived in 2026 and introduced symphonic elements into the mix, showing a band that keeps finding new territory to explore.
