Luwten - Brut & Burgerweeshuis present

About

Tessa Douwstra makes music under the name Luwten, and her signature is a careful attention to detail that sits comfortably somewhere between electronic and acoustic sound. Her work tends to move between the familiar and the unfamiliar, and that tension is very much intentional. The single o pen bro ken is a good example of her approach: a quiet, slow build loaded with suspense, like an orchestra holding its breath before the first note lands. Her concert series slow follow is a run of intimate, multidisciplinary shows designed around experiment and spontaneity, where no two evenings are the same. She has gathered a string of nominations and strong critical notices along the way, and her live setup can extend to include collaborators such as Frank Wienk and Lisa Lukaszczyk, giving the performances a particular spatial depth.
