About
Also known as: Consentual Selections, The Mad Caddies
Mad Caddies mix ska punk with just about everything else they can fit in: reggae, dixieland jazz, Latin music, polka, even cowpunk and sea shanties. That's how you end up with a song like "Weird Beard" sitting alongside a skate punk track. The band started out in Solvang, California in 1995, played as The Ivy League for a spell, and changed their name after signing to Honest Don's Records. Their debut, Quality Soft Core, landed in 1997. Fat Mike's Fat Wreck Chords became their home for most of what followed, including Rock the Plank, Dirty Rice and 2018's Punk Rocksteady, which Fat Mike produced. They've toured the US, Europe, Japan, South Africa, Australia and South America, and put out a live album recorded in Toronto. In 2023 they moved to SBÄM Records for their eighth album, Arrows Room 117. Chuck Robertson has fronted the band from day one, while the lineup around him has shifted a lot over the years.
